What's it like to be a Business Intelligence Analyst?
A Business Intelligence Analyst studies industry trends, competitor behaviour, and market trends to assist a company in making smart business decisions. Their core responsibilities involve compiling complex data using BI software and tools, converting raw data into actionable business information and spotting market trends. Business Intelligence Analysts also predict future business operations based on pattern recognition and predictive modelling. They usually operate in corporations, business consultancies, and market research firms.
Tasks and duties
- Collating, cleaning and presenting data in an understandable format.
- Working closely with the management team to identify business intelligence, reporting and data analysis needs.
- Developing and managing BI solutions that turn data into actionable insights.
- Evaluating and optimising data systems to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conducting troubleshooting on BI models.
- Designing and developing innovative and interactive dashboards and reports that provide meaningful insights into data.
- Maintaining the security and confidentiality of organisation's business intelligence.
