What's it like to be an English Teacher?
An English Teacher educates students in reading, writing, and speaking in English. They plan lessons, teach grammar rules, prepare students for examinations, and encourage students to engage in discussions to improve their English language skills. In addition, they also assess student performance and provide feedback to help them improve.Tasks and duties
- Teach students in secondary school classes English content and subject matter that meets state curriculum requirements by using a variety of materials and catering for students with varying learning styles.
- Plan, prepare and deliver effective English learning and teaching programs according to best practice pedagogy.
- Use a variety of assessment tasks to evaluate, record and report on students' development, learning and progress with regard to their English skills, knowledge and achievement.
