What's it like to be a Guest Services Agent?
Guest Services Agents help guests in a hotel or resort. They greet guests, provide information about amenities and activities, assist with check-in and check-out processes, and work with support staff and managers to resolve issues. Guest Services Agents need good communication and customer service skills. They are often required to work shifts including weekends.
Tasks and duties
- Greeting guests on arrival.
- Undertaking front desk service duties.
- Managing check-in and check-outs.
- Assigning rooms and issuing keys.
- Processing guest payments and managing bills.
- Coordinating with porters, concierge, kitchen staff and housekeeping.
- Acting as a central source of information for guests during their stay.
- Coordinating third-party services such as tour guides, taxis, airport transfers and rental cars.
How to become a Guest Services Agent
You can become a Guest Services Agent without qualifications, but customer service experience is desired by many employers.
