What's it like to be a Mechanic?
A Mechanic diagnoses, repairs, and maintains machinery, such as car engines or HVAC systems. They use diagnostic equipment to identify problems, replace or repair defective parts, and ensure that the machinery is in proper working condition. They need to have strong technical skills and a deep understanding of the machines they work with.Tasks and duties
- Establishing job requirements from drawings and specifications.
- Bolting, soldering, riveting, welding and brazing mechanical parts.
- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components.
