What's it like to be a Quality Manager?
A Quality Manager is often tasked with maintaining the consistency of a company's products or services according to set quality standards. Their work responsibilities include designing quality control systems, maintaining standards by conducting audits, flexibility to address random checks at any point in the production process and exploring and implementing opportunities for improvement. Quality Managers are regularly employed across many industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and many more because these sectors require consistent quality to protect consumers.
Tasks and duties
- Planning, implementing and managing a company's quality control function.
- Developing procedures to ensure product consistency and quality.
- Monitoring performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Communicating with employees and management about quality control information.
- Working with an operations teams to establish procedures and quality standards and monitor these against agreed targets.
- Coordinating and conducting audits, both internal and external to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Analysing data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.
